Irish Exemptions

Please read the circular re. Exemptions from the study of Irish if you wish to apply for an Irish exemption.

Please download the Irish Exemption Application Form, complete it and send it to the school.

Pupils who have an Irish exemption need to apply to the National University of Ireland and complete an exemption form available at the following link:
http://www.nui.ie/college/docs/exemption.pdf

Trinity College Dublin, Mary I and University of Limerick also need to be notified of your exemption. See their websites for forms/application procedures.

 

RaceScheme (Reasonable Accommodations at Certificate Examinations)

Parents/Guardians are asked to read and familiarise themselves with guidelines from the State Examinations Commission (SEC) regarding eligibility for Reasonable Accommodations at Certificate Examinations (RACE scheme). The purpose of the scheme is to allow candidates who have special educational needs that interfere with their capacity to engage with the standard examination arrangements to demonstrate what they know and can do, without compromising the integrity of the examination.

These reasonable accommodations include access to a reader, scribe, spelling/grammar waiver, special centre, extra time, word processor, laptop, etc. For information on RACE (Reasonable Accommodations in Certificate Examinations) please go to the website.
